It is the time of year when the vegetable patch is looking full of fruits and vegetables ready to harvest.
To link with our theme of healthy eating, we visited the vegetable patch to pick wild strawberries, peas in a pod, tomatoes and we also dug for potatoes.
Have a look at the pictures below showing our gardening skills.
Here is a video of our gardeners digging up the potatoes.
After harvesting the fruit and vegetables we washed them and tasted them.
We had to pop the pea pods open to find the peas which was fun. Mrs Greenwood also gave us some apples and plums to taste from the vegetable patch.
We will use the potatoes next week when we make soup.
Here are a few pictures of us tasting the fruit and vegetables we harvested.
We used the vegetables we harvested from the vegetable plot at school to make soup and bread. Everybody helped to chop the vegetables and knead the dough for the bread. Parents were invited into school to taste the bread and soup. Everybody enjoyed it.
