September - October 2013
This page shows some of the work and the different activities that we have been doing as part of our Amazing Bodies topic.
In D.T we have designed and constructed our own people puppets. Here are some photos.
We had some very special visitors in October. Sally and Harold visited our school in the life caravan. We talked about our bodies and the different ways we can look after them and how we can be healthy. We also talked about feelings and how to be a good friend. We had a really fun afternoon!
As part of our work on being healthy we have been learning about how important it is to keep clean. The school nurse visited our class to talk to us about germs and hand washing. We put a special gel onto our hands and then has to wash it off. We then put our hands in the germ machine which showed up any bits we had missed!
We also learnt about how our bodies work and how to be healthy.
We have been learning about the different lifestages and how our bodies grow and change as we get older. We held a guess the baby photo competition so that we could see how much we have changed since we have grown.
We have been learning about healthy lifestyles and now understand that we need to eat healthy foods, exercise, keep clean and get lots of sleep so that we can stay healthy.
We have had sports coaching from Bradford City which has helped us to understand the importance of exercise and doing sport.
In Literacy we have been listening to, reading and following instructions. We have been writing instructions about keeping clean including: washing our hands and cleaning our teeth. We have made healthy foods and have written instructions for how to make a fruit salad, orange squash and leek and potato soup.
