This half term we will be learning about animals. As part of our science topic, we will be identifying and naming a variety of common animals, learning which are carnivores, herbivores and omnivores and describing their structures. We will focus on farm and domestic animals first and discuss which pets we have at home and how we can look after them. We will be going on a trip to Swithen's Farm to look at different wild animals and compare them to the domestic animals we have been learning about. We will listen to how they are cared for and help feed them. We will start to focus on wild animals back in class. We will make fact files about the animals and look closely at their different characteristics. To link in with our topic we will be designing and making our own books on the same theme as ‘Dear Zoo’. We will be learning how to make our pictures move using lift the flaps, levers and pulleys.
