The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a piece of legislation (coming into effect on 25th May 2018) which will determine the way in which people's personal data is processed and kept safe, and the legal rights that individuals have in relation to their own data.
The school has a legal basis for collecting and storing most of its information about children, parents and staff and we will need to share this information with the Department for Education, the Local Authority and any new school that a child moves to.
There are some types of information for which we will need to seek your consent in much the same way as we currently do, eg sharing photographs with the press or on the website.
We will aim to be clear about why we need information, what we will do with is and keep it secure and make sure it is only kept as long as is necessary for the reason it was collected.
