What are we learning this week?
Week beginning 24th April:
We are looking forward to the arrival of our caterpillar and stick insect eggs. We will be watching them closely and learning about life cycles.
In phonics, we are revising the sounds and words we have already learned. We will be focusing on developing independence and confidence when reading and writing sentences, especially using tricky words, digraphs and consonant clusters. We will learn the new sound /ow/ and our wash bag words will be 'now and down'.
In maths, we will be using our ability to add two numbers together to learn about doubling. We will practise doubling using concrete methods, such as putting the correct number of dots onto ladybird wings.
In the woods, we will be exploring the best ways to attach different parts when making nature crowns. We will choose from a range of items, such as sellotape, blu-tac and split pins, to decide which is the most appropriate for the specific purpose.
