Welcome to the All Stars page |

INTENT The "All Stars" room teaches children who need extra support in English and Maths through KS2. Some children use All Stars temporarily until returning to their class. Some children will continue to benefit from the small group input for the longer term. The "All Stars" believe that every child can access age appropriate work with the correct support and learning styles. We develop confidence and the correct learning behaviours so the children can return to class-based learning. Through "All Stars", children may be assessed for a variety of learning issues which may be forming barriers to learning. Children attend All Stars for one or more subjects. All Stars has a flexible approach to learning, allowing children the time to find their own best ways. The children enjoy the enquiry based learning approach. Lessons support memory processing skills and hope to improve processing speed over time. We look for connections between all our work and encourage the children to find their own ways through problems then explain their journey. |

Curriculum We follow one year group's planning depending on the needs of the children. The Year 3 and 4 curriculum provide the basic knowledge and breadth to give a good foundation. Much of the KS2 SATs papers are Year 3 and 4 knowledge. In All Stars in 20-21 will concentrate on the Year 5 curriculum. In English we will follow the same themes as the Year 5 mainstream class. The curriculum chosen is flexible and includes support but also stretch and challenge for those in different year groups. |
