This half term we will be working in The Green Wood completing lots of activities.
Week 1
This week we completed a mathematical investigation in the wood. We collected materials and used these to construct 2D and 3D shape models.
We also helped Mrs Greenwood by working in teams to cut and trim a tree that had blown over in the woodland during the holiday. We will use the branches for some other activities over the next few weeks.
Week 2
We began constructing our Bat Boxes which will be placed in the Green Wood when they are completed. We had to carefully measure the wood needed for the different pieces and to saw the wood to the correct size. We then drilled holes into the wood before screwing the pieces together.
Week 3
We enjoyed finishing our bat boxes. We drilled holes into the wood, glued and screwed the pieces together. Once the boxes were assembled we decorated them.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
