We were really lucky to have the chicks in our classroom for the afternoon. We all enjoyed holding them and we are looking forward to seeing them grow.
The 8 gymnasts chosen to take part in the Year 3 festival came 2nd in the competition against schools in the area. They created a wonderful routine to 'The Circle of Life' from The Lion King. We are very proud of the hard work they put into the routine.
Before Christmas we went to sing for the residents at Earlswood. Here are some pictures of the day. They thought the children had behaved so well and said that they were a credit to the school. They were very impressed with their singing ability and were amazed at the amount of songs they had learnt.
Well done everybody!
We have been so busy over the last few weeks singing Christmas carols at St. Mary's Church, Community Carols at the Co-op and for the residents at Earlswood.
We were also invited to sing at Asda on Wednesday 17th December and we decided to collect money for Barnardo's.
We raised a FANTASTIC £186!
Well done to all of the children for their beautiful singing.
Today we took part in an oriental Art Workshop where we all made a silk painting. The designs were based on Rangoli patterns you may see in houses and temples.
The children used black gutta paint to trace the outline of their pattern. They then used colourful silk paints to finish their designs.
Year 3 have raised money for Children in Need today by coming to school dressed as a superhero. There has been lots of Spiderman, Hulk and Batman costumes seen around school... even three Ninja Turtles!
Years 1, 2 and 3 walked to St. Mary's Church ready for the 11am 1 minute silence. We took a poppy wreath we had made with messages to the soldiers written on the leaves. We listened to The Last Post and thought about the soliders who had lost their lives in the war. We also had a look at the memorial which is located at the back of the church.
We spent a morning baking chocolate and beetroot buns to sell at the coffee afternoon. We hope you enjoyed them because we loved making them!
