Our Offer
Resource | Details |
Quality First Teaching | Our teachers use their best endeavours to include all children in their lessons through support, grouping, seating arrangements and differentiation. |
Wave 2 Intervention | Small groups of children may need to be taught separately for some sessions. These can be delivered during or at a different time to the normal lesson. Usually, these help to boost English and maths skills. |
Wave 3 Intervention | IEPs. Once a child is placed on the SEN register they have an Individual Education Plan written outlining a range of group and 1:1 interventions. These are reviewed formally by the teacher every term with parents and the child. |
All Stars | A daily group which focuses on children catching up with their peers for one year group. The class is fluid, with children leaving when progress has been made. Children do not have to be on the SEN register to qualify for All Stars. All Stars operates between 9.30am and 12.30pm. |
Forest School | Worthinghead has its own woodland area called the "Green Wood". This is used to develop the children's social and emotional wellbeing. |
Inclusion Mentor | Works with children and families to address temporary or sustained emotional distress. Children may work individually or in groups, or with family members. Our inclusion mentor supports with behaviour issues, building positive relationships with our children and families. Children who have friendship issues can also have access to our inclusion mentor. |
Mental Health Champion | Our mental health champion works with targeted children each afternoon providing bespoke support for children with additional emotional or behavioural needs. The offer also includes support for gross motor skills and speech therapy. Each class has a timetabled slot for relaxation. |
SENTA | If needs are severe and the school are unable to meet a need, an EHCP may be applied for - when all other avenues have been explored and the child is still struggling to access mainstream education. |
