Spiritual Development
At Worthinghead Primary School, we promote children's willingness to be imaginative, reflective, creative and enjoy learning about themselves, others and other faiths in the world around them.
Our local Reverend visits to do assemblies.
Moral Development
We support children with their moral development by encouraging them to be thoughtful, kind and caring citizens in the local community. Children reflect on positive behaviour and share viewpoints to ensure the ethos is encouraged with their peers.
Each year we hold a coffee morning for MacMillan Cancer Trust.
Each class decides what they want to bake and what they will sell them for to raise money.
The Hallofire is organised by the Year 5 children to raise money to subsidise their trip to Buckden House. The children understand that not everyone can afford to go, and do everything they can to make it cheaper so everyone can join in.
We learn about other cultures from visiting others or having people into school who can share their talents and experiences. Ash came into do a Loud and Proud assembly. The children learned about and listened to bhangra music. Some children had chance to try the drum. The children were then given the opportunity to try out their bhangra dance moves.
Christmas Nativity and Concerts
Worthinghead celebrate Christmas in style with every year group learning and performing.
Foundation, year 1 and year 2 perform a nativity to packed crowds.
Year 3 and 4 go to St Mary's church to perform a selection of songs and readings. The church is always full of our families and our children perform with pride, singing traditional carols, reading from the bible in the pulpit and telling the Christmas story.
Year 5 and 6 give a performance of traditional and modern songs in the school hall lit by the Christmas tree.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
