Worthinghead Primary school aims to be fully inclusive where every child is given the opportunity to fulfil their potential on a personal, academic, social, and emotional level in all areas of the curriculum, irrespective of their gender, academic ability level, ethnic background, social circumstances, religion, physical ability or education needs. Each class has a full time teaching assistant who is trained to deliver a wide range of interventions. They are skilled at recognising issues in children. Qualifying year groups have access to the "All Stars" classroom which offers support for English and maths each morning for a small group who have wide ranging needs and abilities.
Our local offer for children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) is intended to offer families information on how the needs of every pupil are met within our learning environment in order for every child to reach their true potential. These website pages are designed to offer families an overview of all forms of SEND provision within school and some carefully selected external links. Our SEN information report and policy is available on the policies page of the website.
Children with SEND are encouraged to participate in all aspects of school life. We nurture their emotional well-being and celebrate their successes and talents.
