12/11/14 - Our trip to the Culture Fusion building was excellent. We learned all about bus travel - how to read timetables, know when the next bus is coming, what passes are needed to get the bus etc. The children learned lots about buses and they all know they need to get a half fare pass now as the bus drivers will probably charge them full fare if they don't have one. Here is the link.

This link gives all the information but half way down the page is another link to actually apply. The half fare pass is free.
Just to note - the children were told about the text number on the bus stops. If you send a text it will reply with the distance the bus is away from the stop. I know from my own children that it costs 35p per text and is not included in the normal bundles if you have a contract. May be worth having a word about how many times you want them to text! If they have data as part of their 'phone package then they can go onto the website and type the stop number into a box. The same information is given - and is FREE!

We made our Christmas cards this week! Nothing like being early! These are the cards the children will bring home so that you can buy the fully printed versions if you want. The cards are not the best quality... we may be having another go next week. It was fun having the Christmas music on in September though! Made Mrs McKnight laugh next door!

Well I've had a really enjoyable day.. which hopefully means the children have too. Their attitude to learning is great and every child appears to have tried their very best at the literacy work. I'm really excited about what the rest of the year has in store for us! Fantastic first day year 6, keep it up!
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
