Our first topic this half term is 'Information Texts'. We will begin by looking at features of these types of texts and then go on to write our own.
In one lesson this week we using actions to help us remember the features of an information text. Here is the video! Can you remember them all before watching?
Our work on information texts finished with us writing some fantastic information about Europe which linked with our creative curriculum. We learnt that Europe has a population of over 739,000,000!
Stories from other cultures
We are beginning this topic by learning the story of Hansel and Gretel. This is a tale set in Germany which involves a brother and sister being abandoned in a forest and coming across a gingerbread house decorated in sweets! We used Talk for Writing to help us remember the story, in particular all of those fantastic different sentence starters. Here are some picture to remind you. See how much you can remember at home!
