This half term we will be learning all about Africa. We will be visiting The Yorkshire Wildlife Park on Thursday 11th June and will be looking out for African animals. In class we will be reading the story of Handa's Surprise which is set in Africa and looking at African art and music.
We have been trying the fruits Handa wanted to take as a surprise for her friend Akeyo. Most children liked the pineapple and passion fruit. Some children liked the mango but not many children liked the avocado. Here are some photos of us trying the avocado.
Then we had our lunch because we were very hungry.
Then we went to see lots of other animals. We saw camels, ostriches, giraffes, tigers, polar bears, monkeys and lots more.
On the way home some children were really tired (some were not!).
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
