How Can I Help My Child With Writing?
When writing , it is important a child can present their work neatly for it to be understood by the reader. To help your child with their writing, it is important they are writing on the line with the correct cursive letter joins. Using the correct punctuation is key for the writing to make sense. To help your child make sure they are completing their homework in pen or pencil neatly. Use the time to support them with spelling errors and missing punctuation. Below are the key spelling's children need to know for each year group. These could be practiced at home throughout the year to support their writing fluency. Taking a few at a time, using paint, coloured pencils or old newspapers will help the practice of spellings become more fun for them. They could also look out for the words on signs and leaflets when you are doing errands or visiting different places.
