This half term, our topic is based on work that we did on our residential visit to Kingswood Peak Venture near Sheffield. We took part in a range of activities there and learnt a lot. We will be looking closely at the geography of the area.

This half term we will be learning more about the area we live in - Yorkshire. We will find out about different human and physical geography of the area and which counties border Yorkshire. We will also create artwork based on the surrounding landscapes.

This half term we will be learning all about the Egyptians. We will find out how they built the pyramids, what the 'weighing of the heart' ceremony was and who were some of the different gods they worshipped.

This half-term we are learning all about the Viking Era. We will be learning about how they travelled and where they settled in Britain. We will find out all about their culture and beliefs and what life was like for Vikings in Britain.

This half term we will be focussing on learning all about the ‘golden age’ of Islam and the Abbasid Caliphate. We will find out about the culture of that time and why the city of Baghdad circa 900 AD was such an important and innovative place.

This half-term we will be learning about skeletons and muscles – finding out how many bones are in our bodies and what some of them are called. We will also be looking at nutrients that animals need to live a healthy life. We will be reading the book ‘Funny Bones’ by Allan Ahlberg as part of this topic.
