Throughout the year we need to keep practising our times tables all the way up to 12 x 12. We also need to use our times tables with our inverse. For example, 6 x 4 = 24 therefore 24 ÷ 6 = 4.

This week in a maths lesson, we solved a rounding practical problem. There were a series of bags of potatoes with labels rounded to the nearest 10g, 100g and 1000g that had fallen off the bags. The children had to reattach them. However, the problem was that some of the labels applied to more than one bag but ultimately there was only one definite answer. Pupils worked in pairs to solve this tricky carbohydrate related problem!
Our first learn by heart challenge is to learn the square numbers and corresponding roots. We have made a really good start with this and have done well learning the song below to help us remember. Keep practicing!
