On Monday November 7th we enjoyed our second session of perspective drawing - a very technical and very challenging way to draw! We have looked at the work of American contemporary perspective artist Kurt Wenner and used his ideas to inspire us in our futuristic technical designs.
We have developed our skills from last week, where we learned the basics of drawing a horizon and creating shapes drawn in the correct perspective, and have moved on to designing and starting to create our own cities of the future.
Because our topic is all about 'Where we live', we are designing the super city of 'Future Bradford'. We discussed the buildings and places every city needs in order to work properly and we then made a plan for our city scape.
After this was finished, it was time to choose our building shapes and put all of those technical drawing skills to use...
Use a sketch book to review and revisit ideas.
Improve mastery of technical drawing skills using a range of materials and techniques.
To use chalk pastels to create atmospheric contrast in artistic works.
Understand the contributions of great artists throughout history.
Use shading techniques to effectively colour shapes.
Next week, we will complete our futuristic city drawings and you will have the chance to see them for yourselves at our upcoming creative curriculum exhibition in week 7.
