Curriculum Intent statement
At Worthinghead Primary School we want our children to have access to a broad curriculum that opens up the world to them. We aim to offer experiences in the local area and beyond so they see what goes on in the wider world and aspire to be a part of it. We will share British Values so they grow to be active and committed members of society.
The curriculum covers the range of numeracy and literacy skills so they will have a solid platform for moving on to secondary school or the world of work beyond. We intend to teach them to be confident, self-assured and aspirational for their futures and to have the oracy skills to articulate their views.
By the time children leave Worthinghead Primary School they will know:
We are using Little Wandle as our phonics scheme in Foundation and Key Stage 1. Children in KS2 who need additional support with phonics and reading will work with support staff who have all received training in the scheme.
Unfortunately not the ones with chocolate chips.
