The Bradford Road Safety Team visited us to teach us how to cross the road safely. We learnt the Green Cross Code and we all learnt how to cross the roads around school. Even between two parked cars!
Please remember this training is preparing you for the future, at the moment you are still too young to be crossing roads by yourself.
The children made a fire today by creating a spark using flint. They sharpened the end of a stick to create a spear to stick their marshmallow to the end. They then toasted the marshmallows - Yummy!
The woodland group enjoyed making Christmas wreaths today. They used willow branches, pine cones and ribbon.
Today the woodland group visited the Greenwood to play a blind fold game and to make bird feeders. They also drilled holes into wood to thread ribbon for a Christmas decoration.
In Science this half term we are learning about magnets. Today we found out that magnets come in different shapes and sizes. We also investigated what happens when we put two bar magnets together. We found out that opposite sides attract and like sides repel. We made sure we used the words 'attract' and 'repel' in our writing.
This half term a group of children have been chosen to work with Mrs Greenwood and Mrs Tremayne in the woodland. This week the children have been planting trees around the perimeter of the school grounds and making memory sticks in the Greenwood.
In our first Creative Curriculum lesson we used atlases to locate the different continents. We created a key and coloured the continents carefully.
