Below is some helpful tips, links and videos you may want to use at home to help your child with some key skills they need to know by the end of Year 1. We will add to this as the year goes on with activities the children have enjoyed. If you find anything that is helpful for your child, please share it in our class blog :)
Your child needs to know the number bonds to 5 , 10 and 100 by the end of Year 1. A number bond is two numbers known as friends to make a specific answer. For example: 7 + 3 = 10 is a number bond to ten because 7 and 3 become friends and make ten when they are together. A good way of finding more is using your fingers. Hold up 7 fingers and work out how many more you need to get to 10. This will be number 7's friend.
Below is a video to help you with number bonds.
